{Workin' On My Fitness}

Indulge in...

A Workout Routine

Sometimes you just have to spice it up on the fitness front. As convenient as it is to have a gym right down the block from where I now work, I'm getting a little bored. Sure, I love spin class and the variety of equipment available...not to mention the sauna and steam rooms...but it just isn't enough. After going for a run the other day (yes, hell did freeze over), I had to do a double take in the mirror afterward to make sure I was still my normal self. That's when I decided it was time to not only add a few new fitness routines into my schedule, but rally a couple of girlfriends I haven't seen in awhile to join me in the process. Girl power! In less than a week, I have successfully accomplished the following:

{Indoor Rock Climbing}
Yep, that's moi! I absolutely LOVED rock climbing and cannot wait to go back. I'm hoping to recruit a couple of people to join me in a membership (it's a pricey sport) so that I can have this much fun on a consistent basis :) If you know me personally and want to join in, let me know!

{Zumba}
My friend's cousin teaches this class in Baltimore and what a good workout it was! I have only tried Zumba a handful of times but I felt fabulous afterward. Nothing like being drenched in sweat after some legit booty shakin'. I'm looking forward to going back!

{Pole Dancing}
Wowza! This was a step outside of the box, but it was quite fun and pretty hilarious, not to mention a great toning workout. There are also a variety of other 'exotic fitness' classes that I am looking forward to trying out...and I may just have to buy those crazy heels to complete the experience!

Any other fun fitness ideas I should add to my list?

  1. I can't do rock climbing. I am too terrified of heights that once I get 5 feet up the wall, I have to come back down before I freak out. But pole dancing looks fun. Salsa dancing is also fun and a great workout.

  2. I loooove zumba workouts! It's so much fun and you don't even realize you're working out until you're out of breath and grossly sweaty. I've always wanted to do rock climbing but I've never done it at a legit rock gym. And pole dancing? You go girl! I've never tried that one!

  5. Kathy - You totally should! It can be a little awkward during the first 5 minutes, but then you relax and have fun. I would recommend doing a Google search for places near you that offer classes (and check up on reviews). There is a first time for everything :)
